Vision Leadership St. Charles Accepting Project Requests

VisionLOGO

VISION St. Charles County Leadership is now accepting applications to be a part of The Class of 2027's Project Groups.

The mission of Vision Leadership St. Charles is - "To educate community and business leaders by providing experiences that will increase awareness, develop leadership skills and motivate participants to be actively engaged in St. Charles County." Each year, 35 adult participants - who live and/or work in St. Charles County, MO - are selected to engage in a highly immersive series of programs intended to sharpen business acumen and gain insight into our community in an effort to enhance their efforts to be long-term supporters and agents of change for our county.

One key component of the program includes participation in a small group "mutual benefit" project, whose beneficiary is a St. Charles County-based nonprofit entity, first responders outreach organization, small business start up, St. Charles County municipality, or perhaps a grassroots public benefit "campaign." In order to be considered for participation, those presenting options for group projects for class member(s) consideration must meet the following criterion:

1) The participating entity must be an organization or business with a need that will help move your organization or business forward in the community (i.e., no political campaigns).
2) The project must benefit those who live or work in St. Charles County.
3) The time-frame of the project must begin no earlier than September of 2026 and end no later than April 2027.
4) It will be understood that each small group will consist of approximately 5-7 class members, and so the scope of the project will be reasonable given this capacity. As an example, project groups will not be responsible for organizing or hosting events whose primary purpose is fundraising.
5) It will be understood that those participating in Vision St. Charles are also balancing other notable life responsibilities, and so communication, travel, and/or other expectations related to the requirements of the project will be reasonable given their role as a short-term project-based volunteer(s).
6) It will be understood that the project will benefit solely from the experience and effort of the program participants; namely, there will be no financial contributions made or assigned to the project or its sponsors from the class members or from Vision St. Charles Leadership.
7) The project will serve as mutual benefit to both the class members and to the project organizers. Although highly unlikely and all reasonable efforts will exist to mitigate, if at any time the project does not satisfactorily meet the needs or expectations of either entity, either may approach the leadership of Vision St. Charles County Leadership to discuss ending the placement.
8) A designated committee will review applications and interview project representatives to assure fit and feasibility prior to acceptance. Additionally, class members are provided the opportunity to choose project(s) of greatest interest. Therefore, the submission of a Request for Participation does not ensure the project's selection.
9) As an organization, neither Vision St. Charles Leadership nor its officers or board of directors are held liable for the activities or efforts conducted as part of these class projects. Each group project host will then exercise care and appropriate protocol(s) in ensuring all activities do not impose harm or a concern for safety for any participant.
