For over seven decades, the Community Council has been the unseen architect and champion behind much of the tri‑county area’s social safety net and collaborative spirit. Our mission to create a stronger, healthier, and more compassionate community by developing collaborative solutions to social service needs, guides everything we do.
The Mission Ambassador Program extends that legacy by empowering community members to help share our story, strengthen connections, and expand awareness of the resources and partnerships that support individuals and families across St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren Counties.
Mission Ambassadors represent the Community Council across our three pillars of impact:
- Community Engagement & Education:We keep the community informed and connected through our weekly e‑newsletter, community calendar, social media platforms, and events.
- Our Nonprofit Network:Rooted in our membership‑driven model, this pillar brings nonprofits together to collaborate, share resources, and solve problems collectively — a continuation of our decades‑long legacy of convening and strengthening the human services system.
- Pathways to Stable Housing: We serve as the backbone organization for the Tri‑County Continuum of Care and coordinate Coordinated Entry, the central hub that connects people experiencing a housing crisis to the right resources. Mission Ambassadors serve as connectors, storytellers, and champions of this work helping more people understand who we are, what we do, and how to access help or get involved.
Why This Role Matters
The Community Council helps individuals and families across the Tri‑County region find stability, support, and a path forward. Through Coordinated Entry, the Continuum of Care, and our broader crisis‑response partnerships, we connect people to the resources that can change the trajectory of their lives.
Mission Ambassadors are essential to this work.
They help the community understand who we are, what we do, and how to access help. They build bridges between the Council and local leaders, businesses, faith communities, and residents. They share our mission, elevate our impact, and open doors to new relationships, partnerships, and mission‑aligned opportunities, including potential development and resource‑growth connections.
This role also creates space for emerging leaders to grow. Whether someone is new to advocacy or looking to develop their voice in the nonprofit and community‑impact space, the Mission Ambassador Program offers hands‑on experience in representing a mission, communicating with purpose, and championing community initiatives.
Mission Ambassadors don’t just attend events;they expand awareness, strengthen connections, and ensure more neighbors know where to turn in times of crisis. Their presence directly supports the Council’s ability to reach more people, build stronger partnerships, and advance housing stability across the Tri‑County region.
