Description "PreventEd (formerly National Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse, NCADA) has been leading the conversation around alcohol and other drugs through education, early intervention, and advocacy since 1965. It is one of the strongest substance use resources in Missouri with a focus on youth and adolescents, bringing prevention education to over 65,000 students per year."

* Provides in-service training for professionals. Also, deals with issues and problems related to alcohol and drug abuse vionlence.
* Offers alcoholism and drug abuse awareness programs, including professional training, public education, videos, seminars, literature, workshops and parent education.
* Provides information, referral and short-term counseling to chemical dependents and their families. Also, a family intervention program is available.
* Offers substance abuse prevention through peer based programs, community development, teen institutes on substance abuse and parent/teacher training (grades 1-12).
